Dr John Janssen

How long can people live with dementia?

This is very variable. Most studies suggest between eight to ten years from diagnosis. However, depending how old you are, you may live considerably longer. Some of the younger onset patients may live for twenty years. However, it is not so much how long you live, it is rather the quality of life you have with dementia.
